I’ve made it no secret that one of my favorite cuisines is Italian! I know theres so many different styles of Italian that fall under this category from Southern, Northern, to Tuscany and the list goes on but I must say I’m not partial to one over the other because I just love them all! There’s just something warm and comforting about eating Italian food.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Vic & Angelos in Delray Beach and it was delicious! Let me say “Mama Mia” with my best Italian voice, lol. I got to indulge on the calamari which was seasoned perfectly with the crispest batter paired up with homemade marinara sauce. I couldn’t stop eating it! And of course we ordered the meatball which came out the size of my head in a pot soaked in some of that delicious homemade marinara. They don’t skimp on portions!
But they suggested that we try the table side Mozzarella and what a great suggestion it was! I’m so upset I don’t have the video to share with you but trust me on this one if your a cheese lover like myself, you have to order it! The presentation alone of watching the guy make the cheese right next to you is probably one of the coolest restaurant experiences I’ve had and of course its so fresh with every single bite.
After, we got through our appetizers we ordered the Shrimp & Lobster Risotto and the Pear Tortellini w/ Fresh Shaved Black Truffle, OMG!!!! They’re both rich, decadent, and delicious BUT I must say that the Pear Tortellini is a real show stopper! My palette was so pleasantly pleased with every single bite, that my fork just kept going back for more, and more, and more … Ok, I finished it! I wanted to lick the sauce out of the bowl but I felt it might be a tad inappropriate with so many people around.
I can say I would of honestly never considered putting pear in my tortellini with a rich cream sauce but I’m so glad they did and I’m glad we met! I seriously dream about this stuff and the black truffles ….. well, forget about it!
What’s the proper way to end a perfect meal? DESSERT, of course!I dove in headfirst into their Homemade Banana Pie (look at the size of that slice, WHOA) and washed it all down with a Cappuccino. I had to go decaf because caffeine after 5pm for me equals no sleep. Let’s just say I slept like a baby after this amazing meal from start to stop it was on point! I left full and content from the food and the service.
If you’re on vacation or a local to the area and you haven’t had a chance to dine with Vic & Angelos yet, I guess my only question is what are you waiting on??? Get in there! You won’t be disappointed!
