Southern Shrimp and Grits Recipe

Southern Shrimp and Grits Recipe

You know what G.R.I.T.S. stands for? Girls raised in the South! And I was born and raised in the South. I grew up eating grits. One of my favorite Southern meals still today is cheese grits, coleslaw, hush puppies, & fried catfish. I know. I told you I was a Southern girl at heart. And every once in awhile I like a big bowl of Shrimp-N-Grits! I like to refer to as food for the soul.

This shrimp and grits recipe is super duper easy too. All of the yummy flavors come together and make me do a happy dance. You get the warm cheesy grits with the sautéed shrimp and salty bacon! See my mouth is salivating just thinking about it! I could seriously eat this stuff for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

  1. Oh my this recipe was so delish and easy to make! If I keep cooking like this my husband is never going to want to leave me lol :p

  2. Swooning over the Southern flare here, you just made grits look delicious! I LOVE driving south through vidalia, I always make my husband load the car up with peaches and onions and then we have to drive um, 15 hours back to Niagara Falls. This does not make him a happy man when all these round foods are rolling around in the car! But when I get home, so happy =)

    • Wow, you know Vidalia? How funny! Small world. I was born and raised in that small town. How awesome you have been there and drove your onions back home, rolling around the car and all. They are definitely world famous. They even dedicate a whole festival to the Vidalia Onion.
